Welcome to a new week. And this week is extra special because I’m dubbing Wild & Free Entrepreneurship Week where I’m giving you the process for:
⚡️ Redesigning Your Life to be Wild & Free (Even If You’re Stuck in a Corporate Job or Income-Generating Commitments That Are Costing You Your Freedom). ⚡️
This series was inspired by a lot of private conversations. Conversations with fellow moms who are exhausted from juggling career and family. Conversations with business partners who feel burnout from the massive coaching swell from 2020 and beyond. Conversations with full-time travelers who want to soak up more of the freedom-filled life they embarked on but are still feeling tethered to their computer. Conversations with people itching to make a change so they can live life now instead of waiting for retirement.
This feeling of waiting for the opportunity to live life while being buried in the drain of the every day is where most people feel stuck.
They’re unsure what life could look like because there’s such a wide gap between Instagram influencers touting the beauty of a simple life homesteading, traveling, and raising kids while earning thousands of dollars at Dollar Tree stocking up on their next craft project.
And while you thumb through Instagram, watching these stories unfold in the most perfect grid, your mind is telling you:
- Who’s going to listen to ‘lil ‘ol me?
- I don’t have time for something new, especially if I don’t know if it’ll work.
- What will my friends/family/spouse/coworkers/teachers at my kid’s school think?
- What if I fail?
- What if I succeed?
These ideas will swirl around forever if you let them. But, there’s a way out of that tornado in your mind filled with “what ifs,” “when is it my turn?,” and “how can I get out of this spiral?.” (Because no one wants to go through life feeling like you’re in a Gravitron and can’t find the exit).
That’s where this series comes in.
For the next five days, I’m going to show you the exit door so you can start a content-fueled business that will be fun to kickstart, fun to manage, and ultimately financially gainful.
And I, *ahem* *straightens the collar of my hoodie*, feel uniquely qualified to guide you down this journey because I’ve designed this life for my family over the last decade through a whole lot of trial, error, turmoil (which I won’t let you experience too), and excitement along the way. Through it all, I’ve developed a spacious life where I can now homeschool my kids, travel on a whim, and still show up big for my people.
Here’s where we’re going this week so you can have the life design you crave:
- Day 1: Your Wild & Free Life Design
- Day 2: Your Hero Map
- Day 3: Your Idea (and Whether It’ll Fly)
- Day 4: Your Systems for Freedom
- Day 5: Your Spacious Sales Plan
Let’s begin.
🎉 What Does Your Wild & Free Life Look Like?
Here’s what I’ve learned over the years — the definition of what a wild & free life looks like is different for everyone.
For some, it’s homesteading. For others, it’s full-time travel.
For some, it’s homeschooling. For others, it’s a devotion to the PTA at their child’s public school.
The thing is, there’s no right or wrong answer. It’s something you get to decide for yourself. And, it’s something that can evolve right alongside you, your family, and your big lofty dreams.
But, no matter your definition, before you can build a business that lets you get that freedom you crave, you have to decide what the outcome looks like for you. In other words, you have to decide what you really want out of this season of life.
Starting with the end in mind will let you determine how you’ll structure your business in a way that feels good. Before we get there on Thursday, let’s look at what a dream scenario looks like for you. Is it:
- Writing every morning before going to a day job completely separate from the creative work?
- Helping others make a difference through their work through consulting?
- Creating a product and selling it online so you don’t have to hustle at craft fairs and trade shows every weekend?
- Breaking free from the family business so you can do things on your terms?
- Investing in land and selling it for a profit?
- Heading to thrift stores and buying clothes, then reselling them to local shoppers who hate shopping?
- Podcasting?
- Blogging?
- Vlogging?
- Building a community of animal lovers?
- Building a community of garden lovers?
- Becoming the high-ticket consultant in your field?
The specificity here matters because if you don’t know what you want the end to look like, you will have a heck of a time designing a business that aligns with how you want to live your life.
If your business is serving people in person, but your dream is to travel full-time while homeschooling your kids, you’ll never hit the road because you’ll create something that keeps you stuck. However, if you shift that career goal to help people via a community or asynchronous 1:1 services, you’ll have a career that clears you for takeoff.
That’s because your dream scenario will determine who you’re writing to and how you’re showing up for them — and that can change everything when it comes to living a wild and free existence.
We’ll cover that in more detail tomorrow. For now, start dreaming about what the end goal looks like for you in this season of life. Write it down in a journal just for yourself. And, if you feel comfortable, share it with me by hitting reply or dropping your ideas here.
Once you have that, the strategy will follow. For now, get to dreaming, my friend!
See you tomorrow for hero mapping day!
P.S. If you're ready to build your own content-fueled, life-first business, here are a few ways I can help:
